Jagannathan perumal temple, Tirunandipura Vinnagaram

About the temple

The presiding deity of this temple is Jagannatha perumal. It is one among the 108 divyadesams of Sri Vaishnavas and comes under the chozanaadu divyadesams. The place is said to have got its name as Nandipura vinnagaram as nandi is believed to have done penance at this place to get blessings from Lord Vishnu. The temple is similar to the one at Puri and hence is also popular as Dakshin Jagannath.

How to reach

The place is close to Kumbakonam situated in the Tanjore district of Tamilnadu state. One can take a bus to Korukkai from Kumbakonam to reach the temple. However, since the frequency is very less, it would be ideal to hire a private vehicle as one can cover the other divyadesams on the same route easily. Autos are also available for travel to these places.
