Srivari paadam and Silathoranam, Tirumala

Just about 5 kms from the main temple of Lord Venkateshware/Balaji in Tirumala is Srivari paadam..Presently there are no bus services to the places and can be accessed with the help of private vehicles or jeeps for hire. It is believed that the Lord descended on the earth at this place and decided on the place where the temple is presently situated. The Lord's feet are worshipped at this point on the hill.

After this, the Lord is said to have passed through Sila thoranam that means natural arch to reach the place where the temple is located. Sila thoranam is just about 1 km from the temple premises and is a rare natural geological arch. In all there are only 3 such natural arches in the world. The other two arh are located at Rainbow Arch Bridge at Utah in USA and at Dalradian Quartzite in the UK.
